As we read Parshah Vayeira, and specifically, The Akedah, join us in shul as we try to interpret the meaning of The Akedah for ourselves. The Binding of Isaac is one of the most deeply troubling passages in the Torah. For the modern Jew, it tests the limits of faith and reason.
In order to illuminate the passage, the CLC is proposing to indict Abraham for endangering the welfare of a minor and attempted murder. Rabbi Tobin has agreed to waive the Statute of Limitations on this case and a committee of the CLC is prepared to bring the charges before the congregation. The committee is looking for congregants to assist and pro-bono attorneys to represent Abraham as well as the Government. The matter will be heard by our congregants who will comprise the members of the jury to render their verdict on the guilt or innocence of Abraham during Kiddush. Please join us and let us know if you are interested in being part of the legal team!
